How To Earn Coins?
There are a lot of different ways to make money. Not all are considered professional though.
Play The Mini Games:
Yes, really. It takes some time, and it may be boring, but when you play your games 12 times a week, you can make quite a bit of money! The easiest for coins are debatable, but the most popular seems to be "Last Straw", "Messenger Girl" and "Appleloosa" to make fast coins.
Create Shows:
At the bottom of your home page, there are a button saying "Start a New Show". From there, you can either create a Jumping or Automatic horse/dog show. Do not make the entry fee too high, or players will prefer to enter others' cheaper shows. A good fee is 1 or 2 coins + tax.
Train Horses to Put for Stud:
If you have a stallion, with good lines, train it to have more points and then put it up for stud. This means other players can add their mares to be bred with this horse by paying you coins. Do not make the fee TOO high if you want players to take notice, especially if the points aren't yet very high. Be sure to tick the box "Breed Only With Selected Mares", otherwise your stallion can be bred to a mare with crossbred, inred, etc. lines.
Buy and Resell:
A good way to make money, is to buy, train and resell horses. Be sure to buy a horse with a sound pedigree, otherwise it might not be worth much. Do not make the prices for horses unreasonable high, as you probably won't sell it for that. If you're concerned about where your horse/dog might be going to, do not place it for "Buy", as anyone can buy it for the set price. Rather set it for "Bid Only" as you can decide which bid to accept. If a horse has a terrible lineage, rather sell it to a cleanup account (that does NOT resell the animals) or it will just keep circulating and bring down other animals' worth.
Offer Public Boarding:
Though most players have their animals at their own stables/kennels, you can still offer them boarding (though they might not use it). To make your boarding public, click "Update" at the top right corner of your home page. Scroll down to where it says "Boarding". Tick the boxes for your stables and kennels and type a fee. Do not make this fee too high or too low, you need to be able to buy feed with it. Remember if someone boards at your stable/kennel, you need to feed their animals or they will leave. You can do this by clicking "Stable" and "Kennel" on your home page navigation.
Offer Training:
Another good way is to offer to train other players' animals by entering them in shows for points. Some players do not have the time to do this themselves and will thus pay others. The player will sell you the animal for 0 coins, and when you are done, you can sell it back for the price you decided on. Look around to find out what is a good price to do this, and be sure to complete the training as requested or the player will be mad and maybe prevent others from using your training. Also, be sure that the player has the money to pay you, otherwise you might waste your coins training the animal and end up having to sell it to someone else for a very low price just to get rid of.
Offer Graphics:
If you are artistic, you can make personal horse/dog pictures and home page layouts for players. Before doing this, be sure to be fully informed on copyright laws, stock image terms and conditions, etc. If you use copyrighted images, HL can ban your account and the image's owners can sue you in a court. Use a proper graphics making program such as Photoshop, PaintshopPro, Gimp, etc. For layouts, you will need to learn HTML coding too. The prices of these pieces will depend on how good you get, if you're only just starting out, don't expect too much.
Offer Voting:
When players run in HL's official clubs, they will sometimes look to buy votes to ensure their win. For this, you need a seperate account with atleast 2k coins on, for every vote you want to sell. Be sure to have the logins and passwords to all your accounts if you offer this.
Usually you can sell votes as exclusive or nonexclusive. Exclusive means you'll only vote for one person in a certain club. Usually exclusive votes are more expensive.
Save, Spend Wisely:
Do not waste your coins on buying outfits from the store and useless horses, especially ridiculously priced "racers" - racing doesn't exist on HL, it's all a scam. Rather save and buy a nice horse and spend it on feeding, caring and training it to HIGH points. Then, it will be worth much, much more. Do not buy every horse you see for sale, you will not be able to feed, care for and train them all. Rather have two horses to focus on, resell and then start again.
