What And How To Breed
Breeding is an important part of the Horseland World game, through which a player can get a foal/pup with a portion of the points earned by ancestors on to their offspring, giving that foal/pup a higher starting point level.
Players can choose to breed among their own horses or with horses owned by others. The owners of the stallions control the breeding by having the option to accept or reject a "breed request" by another player. Mares can be bred once every 21 days, and stallions every 2 days (both from the age of 3 until the age of 21).
Breeding is tracked by the game, listing all ancestors of a horse still in play. Once retired, however, the information for that horse (name, age, points etc.) is lost and the offspring of that horse will lose that portion of their lineage and have what is referred to as a "broken line". Most players become very attentive to the tracking of blood-lines, so they often choose to not retire their horses.
If horses are retired past age 21 to Pasture (dogs over 16 to Dog Retirement Farm), you cannot get them back. Over time, they are deleted from the database and will thus cause the offspring to have "broken lines". If you want to prevent this, and care about your lines, have a seperate account to transfer them to (never for buy, use bid only), where you can feed them way ahead and not worry about them being retired and deleted.
Your Stallion For Stud:
Go to your stallion's page, click "Make Available for Stud", "Breed Only With Selected Mares" (if you want to track who gets foals) and then enter your stud fee.
Your Mare to Another Players' Stallion:
Go to the stallion's page and make sure you have enough to cover the stud fee. Click "Breed", look at your mares and click "Breed this Mare" next to the correct one. You will either then have a new foal, or be entered onto a waiting list for that stallion. If you are on the waiting list, it does NOT guarantee a foal, the owner can decide which mare (if any) must be bred with the stallion.
If you're breeding to others' stallions, you will be more likely to be accepted if your mare has sound lines, same breed and has almost equal, equal to, or more points than the stallion has.
Your Mare to Your Own Stallion:
Set your stallion for stud as explained above, click "Breed" and select the correct mare.
Points
Parents:
If you want to start up good breeding lines then first train your animals to at least 100,000+ points. This means that the offspring will at least have some points (around 4-5k). Most players will not breed two animals together unless they have over 200k+ points each to ensure proper pointed offspring
Offspring:
If you want to estimate the number of points the foal or pup will have use this formula:
(sire points + dam points) / 40 + 300
Please note that this is accurate only for horses/dogs with lots of points. If you breed two 0 pointed horses/dogs you'll always get a foal/pup with 1 point!

Notes
- Breeding reduces the health of your female so do not breed her if her health is low and you have auto shows that are still to run.
- You will get charged a vet fee (costing anywhere from 100c to 1000c – so make sure that you have enough money, and that it's not going to take all your coins if something goes wrong)
- There is a chance for having a miscarriage, where you will have no offspring, BUT still have to pay the vetting, mostly if the female's health is low, but not always.
Bloodline Terms
Crossbreeds (aka CB) are two different breeds that were bred together.
Overbred (aka OB) means that the horse/dog has a large number of offspring.
Inbred (aka IB) means that one horse/dog is in the pedigree more than once.
Broken-Lined (aka BL) means that the horse/dog's parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc, cannot be found, because they have been retired to Pasture.
- Pure lined means that EVERY single horse in the pedigree, is owned by a player, up until the foundation store horses. This can be one generation back, or 300 generations back. If ONE horse is retired or inbred, the horse is NOT pure lined.
- Purebred are horses that have an actual breed name, not breed x breed or crossbreed as a breed name.
A horse that is either inbred, overbred, or both, is generally frowned upon. Your horse/ dog is less likely to be bought if this applies to it.
